    I am trying to make a powered draw bar for a Novamill BT30 what is the correct angle for the stud? The collect will have 5 1/4" balls

    30 (or 60 depending where you take the reference from) degrees.

    My guess would be the 45 deg taper is likely to not lock as strongly as the 30deg, and might possibly push the gripper balls back under high/interrupted cuts.

    Cutwel have the correct studs listed - https://www.cutwel.co.uk/tool-holdin...-stud-standard
    I did also find an Indian company last week who had through coolant studs listed at a cheaper price - https://www.toolsengg.com/ps-bt30-45-deg-w-tc.html

    Only reason I currently know the spec, is I'm looking for a batch for some new tool holders I've got ordered for my Triac.

    Those should do.

    I've just bit the bullet and ordered a batch of BT35 ER toolholders with pull studs, as trying to juggle the existing mish mash of holders and collets finally broke me last week when I wanted to add a new cutter. Just need to wait a couple months for them to be delivered now..
