Thread: Does it matter?

Hello, I got a question about choosing a breakout board for my cnc. I bought a uc300eth motion controller, along with 3 dm542t drivers, now I just need the breakout board. I've seen a lot of 5 axis boards that are relatively cheap, but they say they're for Mach 3. My problem is that I can't actually find any boards for Uccnc instead of for Mach 3/4. Does it actually matter though? Are breakout boards specifically configured to a single software somehow? Or can I use a Mach 3 breakout board for Uccnc? I understand that motion controllers are specifically configured to their own software (ie- Uccnc won't work on a warp 9 smoothstepper since smoothstepper is configured to Mach 3/4). But is this the same case for breakout boards???
Thanks in advance!!!!!
