    If I pick a 3d clip art object and place it down, run a roughing tool path it takes like .45 of material away around the object before it starts the roughing and finishing tool paths, why is that?

  3. Depth that you place the object at is in the toolpath control section. best bet is go watch the Aspire videos as they do a very good job of explaining it. If you don't get a good grasp of it there, I would go on the vectric forum and ask there as you will get a much better explanation from the folks there. I use Aspire9.5 and while I am good at using it i am not the greatest at teaching it.
