    Hello everyone,

i want to build a machine to cut 3d items. I am choosing between laser and milling. Do you know is the laser beam needs to be perpendicular to the surface of the item at all times and what is the maximum distance from the head to the item surface? Also do u suggest CO2 or fiber lasers for cutting 1/4'' plastic (nylon 12).

    Thanks
    John

Someone used to cut polycarb for me a high power laser. There is certainly an issue with perpendicular cuts with laser. From my very limited experience, it might be due to the power, so more power might be better? Not sure.
