Building the router, especially if you involve the kids, i think is an excellent idea...
The kit you mention is probably OK although not sure if anyone here has actually bought one. Also not entirely sure you couldn't do better on price in UK though once you take shipping, and potentially VAT and import duty into account (yes I know you might get away withiout paying them, but then again you might not). Also consider the issue of support and replacement if something goes pffft... Have a word with Roy at DIYCNC.co.uk or Gary at Zappautomation.co.uk to name but two... their pricing overall is not dissimilar and they are in the UK...

Well let’s begin the journey….. I have already spent personal money (not taxpayers) on a set of Ballscrew with anti backlash flanged nuts I’ll send you photos.
Had a couple of beers and won them on ebay there’s no technical information about them which is disappointing but…this is the starting point good or bad…
I'm sure the drivers and motors are good! love to see some drawings of you idea ?
or is it all in the memory box :)
Hi Gethin, nice to see someone else from our city on this forum. If i can help at all, albeit a newcomer myself, just ask.
