Thread: 1610 Ballscrews

  1. #1
    Accidentally bent one of my 1605 ballscrews whilst building my machine, so I'm taking the opportunity to upgrade to the 1610 screws I should have used from the start.

    Does anyone have any from old projects lying around they are willing to part with before I order new ones from China?

    I have access to a lathe so I can cut and machine anything too long to suit my machine.

    Looking for;
    2x min 750mm
    1x min 890mm
    1x min 230mm

    Ideally with ball nuts.

    Measurements are for the threaded part of the screw.

    If you do, please message me and let me know what you have and what you want for them.
    More than happy to cover the cost of postage and packaging too.

    Just incase you're also replacing the Z axis, as it appears from the sizes you've asked for, there probably isn't much to gain from going 1605 to 1610.

    It depends on what you want really. The gain will be double the feed the cost will be lower resolution and torque. However, if you have a motor that can handle it then the extra speed can really help with 3D work.! . . . horse for courses really.
    I actually fit 10mm on my router machines these days but I always connect screw and motor with a belt and apply a ratio, it allows flexibility.

    That's exactly what I was planning.
    Looks like the there are no used screws around, so ordering from China if it still open for business.
