I downloaded some STEP files for some Hiwin Linear Rails with 2 Carriages.
I want to change the spacing between the carriages as they don't match my design. Anyone know how/if it can be done?

I can't see anyway to specifiy the distance when configuring the CAD file OR move the Carriages after it has been imported.
    There must be a way?

Can you import separate models for the carriages and rails so that they are not in the same model?

The Hiwin site has a configurator.

You can usually get the models in a format best suited for your CAD program (STEP is not always great).

Get the rails and cars as separate models and then mate/constrain them together as you desire in CAD.

    Didnt think of that....thanks guys.
I just assumed I would be able to edit them.
I will get separate rail and carriages models and carry on.....

Whichever your CAD programme will accept? I'm pretty sure that Fusion 360 is happy with STEP although it's a while since I used it.

Not sure about anyone else but I used the data sheet rather than the cad models.

It has all the information you'd want hole spacing, length of carriage and height is all you really need.

If you didn't buy it from China the company you bought it from did ;)
