    Hi all
    l was wondering what would the best thing to run a1500x1500 cnc machine on using a generator is it a inverter? or

    what inverter do you need to run cnc on a 5000 watt generator

    So what is your CNC machine normally meant to rub off? If it's 230V AC (normal mains) I don't see why you would need an inverter, unless the generator you have outputs DC (unusual apart for some made for welding I believe). Whatever generator you use I would make sure it's a good quality one with plenty of spare power and good voltage regulation.

    thanks for that its a German one l think it runs all my tool in the garage so l think it should be ok

    You could have trouble with pulsing and surging if using a generator. CNC requires a very smooth continuous supply of power unlike power tools which will happily run on a fluctuating power source. This is why Rotary phase converters are not recommended for CNC equipment.
    -use common sense, if you lack it, there is no software to help that.
