Hi I am trying to convert a machine that is running Ahha/Artisan CNC (dos based) to Mach4/Ess/MB3.

The system is fitted with MSD043A1XXV Panasonic AC Servo Drivers 400w https://industrial.panasonic.com/con...s_manual_e.pdf

The system if fitted with a large breakout type board connected to the PC via an ISA card. I want to replace with with the MB3.

    MB3 docs http://www.cncroom.com/downloads/MB3...al%20E13R2.pdf

The problem I am having is I don't know much about servo's and can make little sense of the Servo documentation.

I was advised on the Warp9TD forum that I needed a differential capable breakout board.

It seems the servos need 24v inputs? But the MB3 uses 5v for step and dir????

Has anyone out there gor any experience with the Panasonic Servos and the MB3?? I would like to reuse these as it will save me £1,200 on new servos.

I have all the servo settings and can get into the Artisan software to find any other parameters.

Below is a picture of the ahha/Artisan breakout board - any help would be greatfully recieved.

Ok so found the Ahha wiring diagram for their version of a breakout board. What I need to do is remove this and connect the Servos to the MB3 board.

    Has anyone got any ideas?

It may be the case that the MB3 does a lot of the functionality of the Ahha breakout board... I just don't know myself.
