Thread: Good evening.

    Hello,

I am new to this Forum and would like to say hello to everyone.

I am very much a hobby machinist. My small workshop houses a Chester Conquest lathe and a Sieg X1 mill.

At the moment I am working on a 2" Clayton Steam Wagon.

I have been toying with the idea of setting up CNC on the lathe and mill. I would be grateful for advice and suggestions on whether it is practical on these types of machines.

    Many thanks for listening.

    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

    Welcome to CNCUK...

I have the same lathe as you, and have been toying with the idea of CNCing it... Would you keep the manual function or go all over to CNC?

I've just looked up 2" Clayton steam wagon on google. Ummm they look quite big! Can you sit on it?!

    Tom
