hi i need some advice please
i am converting my denford cyclone lathe.
it now runs using centroid acorn with cnc12 lathe .

i am thinking of losing the stepper motors (8nm nema34) and using ac servo's with they're encoders.

i have never done anything with servos before ,but i want the accuracy and don't want to lose steps like i occasionally do with the steppers.

ive seen servos with drivers around £300 can anyone recommend some that will do the job and they're power please plus someone reputable to buy from.

Also the spindle motor is a 4 pole 2.2kw 1:1 with the spindle via a belt.

currently it is controlled by a cheap 4 kw hy vfd ,0-76 hz gives me 2200 rpm ,the motor has stalled in the past and not a lot of torque at lower rpm
i would like to ridged tap in the future .

so would a better vfd with senseless vector (yaskawa v1000) give me more power and enable ridged tapping ?

Ive heard of servo motors being used for spindle drives would this work in my application if so recommendations on power and a seller

cheers
