Thread: Longest Newbie

  1. #1
I may be the longest newbie. I bought one of the Chinese 6040 4 Axis CNC Mills five years ago and, after an initial spurt of interest, I put it at one side. I used the machine to cut photos using Scorchworks Dmap2gcode to create the path.

I've now got the time to spend on it, but of course I have forgotten most of what I learned!

The Setup I have is LinuxCNC on a specific PC, and I am looking to use the 4th Axis for something.

Nah, there are others who have been lurking much longer, only last week I spoke to someone who I built a machine for over 5yrs ago and he still hadn't turned it on, hence the phone call.

But don't worry if you learnt it properly the first time it will come back to you quite quickly and we are always here to help, so crack on and remember we need photographic evidence before we accept it's a real machine...
-use common sense, if you lack it, there is no software to help that.
