    Hello all,

The last year I've secretly been watching countless YouTube videos of CNC projects. The last few months it's gotten really bad and a few times my girlfriend nearly caught me; fortunately I had just enough time to turn on some porn to hide my guilty secret. But now I am proud to say that I mustered up the courage and came out to her as CNC+. We watched a few videos together and she actually got into it even talking about some projects we could do together, she's even suggested getting epoxy resin involved but I'm not sure I'm ready to share just yet.

Anyways a few weeks ago I decided that I needed to stop being a CNC voyeur and "pop my cheery" and so I ordered an Ooznest Workbee. The anticipation of waiting for it to arrive was a mixture of pure exhilaration and panic. I was awash with questions, "What if it was too big or too noisy or what if I simply couldn't handle it?" But the devil on my shoulder made a very compelling case promising me untold rewards and gratification.

Long story short, I now am the proud owner of a Workbee 1500 x 1000 CNC machine and I couldn't be happier. The build was immense fun and helped me to understand much more about how the machine works. It's now all put together in my workshop / wooden cabin (managed to crack it in a day and a half) and I'm now designing and building a foldable and movable cart I can put it on so that I can store it away when I'm not using it (space is a bit of a premium in my workshop). Also working through some design considerations for a modular soundproofing box so that I don't irritate my somewhat excellent neighbour who gave me a spare F1 Grand Prix ticket some weeks back.

Appreciate any and all advice on all things CNC related. Looking forward to learning new ways to make dust with ridiculously dangerous spinny whirly things.

    Cheers

    Dusty

    Hi Dusty

What software have you decided to use?

How are you getting along, have you made anything yet?

Always nice to see some pics?

Never been an iPhone fan, does it give you the option to proceed to the site, even though it does not want to take you there.

A lot of web browsers now have the ability to check the sites security settings and if they don't meet the criteria, it will not automatically take you there - but most give you the option to proceed as well?

It has nothing to do with iPhone. It's about how the web browser is configured. Anyway, this site is not secure, I also get the warning about it.

I get the same warning on ALL browsers.

Hi Dusty, welcome to the forum. Based on your first post you'll fit in here just fine!

Don't be afraid to ask any questions you have (though they should be mostly CNC related, at least to begin with) and pictures are always welcome. You will need to make total of 10 posts before you can upload pictures though so start with some quick "looks good!", "very clever!" comments to get the numbers up.

An optimist says the glass is half full, a pessimist says the glass is half empty, an engineer says you're using the wrong sized glass.

    Hi A Camera -

    Not being picky, but..................

As most people that purchase an iphone never add any other browser other than the one native to the device. Therefore it is the settings on the device by default

Most people would not know about site certification or how to change their browsers settings -

Even better still, i think most people have not got a clue which 'app' opens on their phone to browse the internet!

I did not know that Kitwin - interesting little fact! I can imagine the reason and quite clever to be fair!

I don't know what most people do or use or what is the default web browser of iPhone. I am using Firefox and Chrome on mine and not done any special configuration.
