Installed the free personal use but doesn't come with simulation or cam so I went for the 30 days free trial and it just keeps reinstalling the free personal version. I've uninstall it and followed the steps for the free trial but it just installs the free version only. Any ideas?

    Thanks

The free for personal use version most certainly does come with simulation and CAM! Hit the big button on the top right to enter the manufacture (= CAM) workspace. Plenty of tutorials on YouTube explaining how it works.

Interesting. In my installation, it's at the top left! Once the 30 days are you you should be asked to declare you are a hobby / student etc user, then it's yours for 12 months, at which time they ask again and you get another 12 months.

ah ok i was following a tutorial but on their version it was called cam not manufacture but the simulation is greyed out and tells me to subscribe to a paid version to use it.

Yup, the free version definitely includes CAM. But simulation - depends what you mean! It will definitely do toolpath simulation - I do it all the time. You can also move parts around in the modelling ("Design") environment within their permitted constraints to examine clearances, etc, and you can ask it to look for clashes between components. But a lot of the more sophisticated mechanical analysis tools are paid version-only.

...and because they keep tweaking the user interface and layout, tutorials often are out of date. You just have to try to translate.

    Exactly this!

OP: Also, yes, top left. Two small kids. Need more sleep.
