With cnc on a cross slide is the digital readout set up to measure the actual diameter of the part, or the size of cut, (ie the movement is half the digital readout)?

It can be set to either. It can be set in the DRO with a button or software to read radius or Dia..

Hi Clive thanks for the reply,
In the case of my SZGH CNC1000TDb it uses: set P16 on User parameters, diameter or radius programming.
The stepper pulses need to be matched at 10,000 on the stepper drive and in Axis Parameter No.17 Numerator of X Electron gear also set to 10,000.
I will set the No18 moved distance in diameter (P16) and see if that is correct.

    Regards
    Colin
