Get them while they're dirt cheap, these have gotta be worth the price for making components for the CNC or model making guru's.

I got 4 which arrived today.

That's not bad for ebay. A 4m bar would be about £80, he's chops it into £1 lengths and sells them for £1.80

Usual ebay mark up is a lot more than that.

I bought a 4m bar of 4.25" diam 7075 T6 for a job a couple of years back, still have a couple of meters left. It was the opposite of cheap but is extremely handy stuff to have around

These are the biggest ripoffs on ebay where metals are concerned....

    Speaking of aluminium bargains:

(Found it in their 'aluminium bargains' catagory)

Can anyone recommend a cheap place to buy aluminium plate, preferably near me?

Guys, tell me what sorts of ally do you use in plate for your builds? Do you tend to use 6082 (He30) or tooling plate?

    Kind regards,

Thanks....I tried that, googled all the companies etc but didn't come up with anything :(

There's one place in Loughborough, www.steel-shop.co.uk, (very close to me) that I've not checked out yet but someone told me they were expensive. I'm after 20mm aluminium plate, 1220x160mm.

I'm sending an enquiry to 'stainlessalloysupplies' now :)

Yes ally warehouse do seem to have good prices - it's just you have to buy a lot! I guess that's why they're cheap.
