    Hi Mark thanks for your comments. http://www.dqr.co.uk/ballscrew_covers.html they cost about £100 and take 4-6 weeks for delivery

    Ah, but what's a decade between friends!

    Thanks for spotting that. Nice, businesslike conversion there.

    My Bantam looks like a baby version of the M250 in many ways. In my case I mounted the X axis motor at the back of the saddle and fitted linear encoders so I could close the position control in LinuxCNC.

    I got my telescopic ballscrew covers from AliExpress but I haven't fitted them yet. Obviously, the minute I do I will need to remove them again and they are the very devil to get off without dismantling the entire front assembly.
