Basically I've got a bog standard router like below:
    http://www.screwfix.com/p/direct-pow...ter-230v/25568

What I want to do is insert a cutter into the router but the shaft is only 3mm and the collet on the router is alot bigger.

Can anyone tell me if I can get a sleeve to adapt it and if so where from. The like of screwfix and B&Q dont seem to do them.

    Thanks

I think 3mm is 1/8" but I'm sure some one will correct me if I'm wrong

so you need 1/8 to 1/4" collet

    1/8" = 3.175mm
    1/4" = 6.35mm
I don't know anything about router collets though!

  5. That looks to be the same as B&Q's Performance Power range of routers.

Trend do make collect sleeve's, but I ended up using my friends mini metal lathe an make my own collect's.

I made some for mine using CNC mill operated as a cnc lathe. Could have made them manually on the lathe easily enough...I'll see if I can find them as I have no use for them now.

Edit: Looks like I videoed it, see here...

For future reference if you can't remember it's 1" to 25.4mm then use Google:

(There's various ways you can type it and it will convert pretty much anything, for instance:

Considering the runout on those routers saying 3mm is 1/8" is not far off!
