    Hello Everyone!

As we move into the new year I wanted to get some feed back from you guys. I have created a list of videos walking through the steps of working with DXF file in BobCAD CAM V24. These videos go step by step from part zero to posting and simulation. Please review the work flow and let me know if everything makes sense, and if you see areas that needs improvements let me know what they are.

    Thanks

    • This video walks through the steps of opening a DXF file and moving the part to zero.

    • This video walks you through the steps of cleaning up geometry and using layers to organize your part.

    • This video walks you through the steps of drilling and tapping the holes for this sample drawing.

    • This video walks you through the steps of cutting the slots for this drawing. We are using the profile feature and contour ramping, which will ramp down to cut the slot out.

    • This video walks through the steps of cutting the pockets. I show how you can use top of job to change where the tool starts cutting from. Using top of part settings is great for when you are cutting a pocket inside a pocket. This way you don’t cut air.

    • This video walks through the steps of cleaning up the walls of the pockets. I use the profile feature with side roughing. This allows the tool to walk into the wall and clear any extra stock that might have been left over.

    • This video walks through the steps of simulating your program and posting code.

    • Question: If my simulation show the tools cutting in the wrong order, how do I change that?

Answer: The machining order can be set to ” individual tool ” or ” individual Feature”

    • Question: Why does the software call more than one tool when drilling a hole. What if I only want to call a drill, instead of a center drill, a drill and a chamfer tool?

Answer: We use tool patters to optimize hole making processes. The idea is to call and program all the tools need to make the kind of hole you want to make. You can customize the patters to fit your needs.

    Good morning,

Yes your work is useful, a good cotribution for all cad-cam users.
    Now i have unusual question:
Bob-Cam offers about 6000 *.dxf , art drawings,
but I am not in europe nor USA, so it is not easy way
    to pay for that.
If just if, you have some of Art-*.dxf, and if you would send some,
    that would be nice.
    I have BOB-23V,
24V and CAM for SOLID WORKS are at the markt.
Thank you for your work, Mr BOB should take your work and idea .

    best regards
    Robert Wagner

Hi there, could you tell me whether the turning module in this software caters for C axis and live tooling please?

    Thanks.

The short answer is no. But I do have clients that modify the code that is generated in the milling software to support C axis turning. In the near future we will offer live tooling but for now the user has to be creative with the post of the milling software.
