    Hi,

Before spending nearly 50 on Fleabay has anyone got a 12 x 2 mm Right Hand trapezoidal tap I can buy, beg, borrow, or steal?

Alternatively does anyone know a cheaper source. I want to make some Delrin anti-backlash nuts for my SX2 P mill project.

    Russell,
I have seen several times where people have taken a spare piece of this type of leadscrew and made it into a tap for Delrin. Certainly costs less and for a one or two off, it should last very well.

Yes, I've thought of that but I don't have a spare leadscrew and can only spare about 20 mm off the end of my X leadscrew.

Perhaps someone has a leadscrew they've removed to fit ballscrews? Anyone?

I've tried it already and I'm not pleased with the result. Probably needs some practice but this guy has just started advertising so I have a tap on the way.
