    Hi All,

Id lie to get hold of cheap 3D package that will allow me to machine .stl or.iges files on a flat bed cnc machine?

i use enroute for 2D profiles but the 3D version is around £4k!!!!!

    any ideas?

  2. Depends on how many parts you going to make and how much time you want to spend learning the software. CamBam is good, rather good but does take a bit to learn the in's and out's of. DeskProto is also good and offers a lot though it also has a bit of set up and is more geared at prototyping then any type of production running. There is other software out there. There are options out there and it depends on your wallet size and how much you are willing to learn. Good luck and I am sure others will pipe in shortly with more options then these.

Here you go used with with Gmax software which is free (or used to be.!).! Very powerful software But I warn you it's very steep learning curve and not recommended for first timers.

    Free, good place to start:

    http://cnc4free.org/

Low cost, relatively, Meshcam, http://www.grzsoftware.com/ 30 day fully functional free trial

http://www.deskproto.com might be worth a look.
