    Alright guys.

I want the strength of powder coat on my project but unfortunately the colour i want is damn near impossible to find in powder.

I am wondering if i base coat my part in powder, lightly sand the powder and paint over it with my colour of choice, Would this give me as tough finish as the powder itself?

i dont honestly know but i think you'll find the top fancy coat will scratch and chip as easy as it would do anyway and you will end up seeing the under powder coat through any chips

Don't be so picky. What's wrong with Metallichrome Turd Brown ?

What are you going to paint it with thats tougher than powder coat? If you want a specific colour in powder coat this is possible. Talk to triple s coating or aerocoat ltd.

Thanks Bruce, I didn't want to pay for someone to do it since i have my own powder coat machine.

I am after florescent Neon yellow and its almost impossible to get in powder, i have never seen it in powder before.

Sorry did not realise. It may be possible to buy the powder from these guys. I know that areocoat do have some amazing colours available. Would you be painting it with 2 pack?

I was going to paint it with some lexan paint so that it has the flex agent, powdercoating can flex so i think 2pack MIGHT crack on impact.
