    This a is a small chart to help with those of us that are doing lighter work. Always wondering what chip load to use so this may help.

    MATERIAL CHIP LOAD INCHES METRIC

    Minimum Average Minimum Average
    Solid Wood - Dense 0.006 0.015 0.1524 0.381
    Solid Wood - Soft 0.008 0.02 0.2032 0.508
    Particle Board 0.01 0.025 0.254 0.635
    MDF 0.008 0.015 0.2032 0.381
    Rigid Plastic 0.01 0.02 0.254 0.508
    Flexible Plastic 0.015 0.025 0.381 0.635
    Aluminum 0.002 0.009 0.0508 0.2286
