As a first attempt at a 4 stroke you could try the Matador.60 published by RCME Plans Service. Built one of these myself years ago, worked really well.As far as Radials go have a look on the web site agelessengines.com he has got some great engines on there.

I have bought a set of plans for the 9 cylinder radial, and have made a start. I have redrawn most of the parts in metric as theplans are in imperial and use american screws. The plans come in an A4 size folder with many of the drawings in A3, the whole lot is about 2 inches thick and very comprehensive.

  7. I would love to have the machinery, time and confidence to build something of that complexity. Are you CNC'ing any of it or doing it all manually?

I am lucky in that I run a machine shop and have 2 Bridgeport VMC's and 2 Mazak Mill/Turn Centres at my disposal when the work load permits. The easy stuff I do at home.
