I did actually search the forum this time before posting a daft question and couldn't find any mention of it.

Has anyone used sculptris to create things digitally and then exported an object out for 3D printing or carving, I was wondering what the workflow was and what the quality of the end result was like. (I don't have a CNC machine to test it on yet...)

If you haven't heard of sculptris, it's very cool, very free and very easy to use scultping software, it is given away free because it is totally useless on it's own for producing digital work (you can't do painting or lighting in it) but for cnc use it looks promising.

It is fun to use and will produce an obj file so an be used for cnc. Also it is possible to paint the models. This video shows how.
