Does anyone know of a suitable tool changer and spindle for a DIY project please.

depends on the spindle and the application

is this for a lathe, mill, router or some other contraption?

I would imagine the easiest to come by would be tools mouted on a stand on the machine bed and the machine to index to the tools. If you happen to have a kress spindle, there is a toolchanger add-on.

I don't suppose anyone has come up with a good way to auto-tool change for the Chinese water-cooled items?
