right i've got my brother and sister asking what i want for xmas.. ideally i'd like them to buy me something for my cnc...

so what ideas could i give them.. we are talking around 20-25quid each.

unless they just give me money there isnt a lot they can get me to help build the machine so at the moment i'm thinking some bit's to get me started in cutting.

at the moment all i can think of is some engraving work in acrylic and some general cutting parts to shape in mdf

could anyone give an idea of some bits i'm likely to need from the get go that will fall in to these price ranges

    These are generally very useful:
5x 6mm Carbide CNC Router Bits Single Flute Tools 25mm | eBay
Or other diameter single flute cutters. They will cut most materials efficiently.

    20 - 25 quids worth of pies !

so whats the difference between the 2 the you both linked then? jonathan are we saying the one you linked is good for your everyday milling and pocketing kind of jobs and then some small 1-3mm ones from jcb121's link for engraving and fine detail work?

Wilfy, what you use the most will determine what sort of bits you tend to buy or use most, might just be that the 2 of them do generally different types of work which requires different cutters. For a range of different jobs I am guessing you will need a range of different cutters at different sizes.
