    Hey guys

Does such a thing as a stumpy 3.5mm drillbit exist?

I need to drill some holes that are only around 15mm deep and I could do with not having all the flex of standard long drillbits.

I have seen stubby drills before just not this size.

Phantom Drills by Boneham & Turner do a wide selection. Not the cheapest, but if you're doing alot in a certain material it pays to get the right drill.

the short drills are often referred to as "jobbers", cheap but not usually the best quality. G.

Jobber drills are standard length drills (at least in the last catalogue I seen them....)

You are correct m_c. I have just googled it and the shortest length bits are referred to as screw machine length, although that may an American term. of course John S is right -stub drill-. Sorry. G.

twin end drills are fairly strong. Used them for drilling sheet steel when normal drills snap on break through
