    Is this worth £500 ??

apparently it was used for a year, the electrics stopped working so they turfed it outside and had a new one delivered.

its been sat outside for now about a year. Im not sure what the blue thing is on top. or if it is also included but on the basis a lot of photos have been included im assuming so

the story is, a friend of a friend wants it gone. Its a good 2 hour drive from here, and if I want it Il need to hire some gear to move it.

question is. is it worth it? assuming Il have to renew ALL the electrics?

Matt, IMHO the answer is yes. I doubt if you could use it yourself due to power requirements, but I would be prepared to give you a profit on it. G.

Would have thought that would be worth 500 squids in scrap alone, never mind stripping it down & selling off parts or trying to get it running yourself.

It's hard to say what it's worth. It seems to have rusted a lot, which is a shame as that would have been so easy to prevent. The Y-rails are covered in rust so probably useless, although the bearings may still be ok as they should have grease inside them. The spindle body is rusty, which isn't a big deal, but if the taper inside is rusty that'll need a bit of work to rectify. I'd ask them to send you pictures to show if there's any rust on the other rails and ballscrews, as if so it's basically £500 for a frame and possibly a vacuum bed system.

Just guessing, but it might be the pump for the vacuum bed?

    Matt

This machine is a typical xyz type machine, it's an imported machine. For the money you have bought a bargain. By the time you play with this and give it a clean up, a bit of TLC you will be like pig in sh*t. It would cost you six times that to import one and you should be able to get most of it going. Well done on the find, i'm jealous like a few others here. It would cost you that in steel just for the frame and get it welded on top? well?
