Thread: dxf to pcb

  1. #1
Can anyone turn a dxf into a pcb file, ie gerber or similar?

if you download the trial version of cnc-usb, you can import as a dxf & then save as a gerber....

or was that not what you meant?

    pcb2gcode perhaps??

Thanks for the replies. Cant find the export option for cncusb and it wants to router the holes rather than drill then but that could be the dxf.
Pcb2gcode wont output a gerber file.
I do have a copy of Diptrace which will do the job but I cant figure out the layers at the moment. I was hoping to get this one done quickly so I will probably send it to one of the board manufacturers tomorrow if they can take dxfs.

    Regards

My apologies, it's the other way around....it imports gerbers & outputs dxf [I'll get me coat]

Seems that designing PCB's in AutoCad is not the accepted convention?? DXF/DWG to Gerber Conversion Guidelines | Numerical Innovations

Maybe this can do what you want if you save your DXF as a PDF first: http://swannman.github.io/pdf2gerb

    Or this? http://ask.metafilter.com/143118/how...CB-fabrication
