Curious if anyone knows what's the standard fit one goes for on a shaft section where a taperlock bush is going to be mounted? Is it h5 / h6 or something different? shaft dia / taperlock ID is 25mm, here's the tolerances for h5 / h6:

    h5: max 25.000mm , min 24.991mm
    h6: max 25.000mm , min 24.987mm

    Regards,
    dsc.

Doesn't matter, average taperlock will grip a given size plus or minus a post code.
That's one of the saving graces about them, they will fit to damaged shafts.

Thanks John. Any specifics on what the max error can be? +/-0.5mm or less? not sure what to ask for on the drawings.

    Regards,

Can't give any specific numbers but I DO know that a 1" (25.4mm) taperlock bush will fit comfortably on a 25mm shaft and still have remaining adjustment. Best practice is obviously to use the closest fitting you can, even if that means selecting an imperial bored bush.
