I got this screen off ebay from a guy selling a fair few of them, all that was for sale was the screen - no stand and the monitor was listed as making a noise from the inside and it was suggested that is was a "Cap".

Sweet so I poped it all out the box and sure enuff the monitor is making the noise, so i did plan to open this baby up and see if i could locate what the issue was.

Using the built-in menu screen i was guessing the noise was coming from the PSU for the lights, sure the brightness was set to 55 i turned it up till i got to 75 and the noise faded out and has been since !

That Will Do Me for less then £100 on a £200 + monitor from new.

Still dose anyone have any experience with an issue like this or an idea of what it could actually be?

I had similar issue, different brand monitor though. It had the noise and the screen would go black at random. Opened it up and there was several caps that had bulged on psu board and also on another board. I replaced them and has been going like new ever since.
