OK folks here we go............

1 No. Rockcliffe Flying gantry CNC.

I have cut most of the parts out of 19mm MDF
The gantry sides are cut from 7/8" ply (simply because I had some)
The base is also 7/8" ply
I have purchased screws and bolts, 22mm bearings, aly angle etc.

Bits and pieces. All put together with gravity at the moment for an overall effect of whats to come.
Base size is 36" x 48"

Aly angle cut to length, drilled and threaded ready for bearings.

Bearings fitted. I decided it was easier to notch the MDF rather than trimming the screws shorter.

Dry fitting run before screwing angle to MDF.

All screwed up........just like me!
Before anyone spots it, I haven't routed the channels yet, I am waiting for the stainless 3/8" bar to arrive.

Apologies for the fuzzy pic.
You will notice that I have used countersunk screws, the logic behind this is that the taper will hold the bearing
in a constant position to avoid any play between screw and bearing.
