Thread: PSU help needed

  1. #1
    I have a Minibea 500w PSU model EP002G600RKE.
I bought a bunch of bits which included this , 2 drivers , BOB and motor control board.
I have had them for about 2 years (sitting on the shelf because of other commitments )
If I got any wiring instructions with this they have been misplaced so I am looking at a 15 pin socket with no Idea of what to put where .
Can anyone point me in the right direction please so I might be able to get this project rolling.

Spelling mistakes are not intentional, I only seem to see them some time after I've posted

    Many thanks
I should be able to progress now.

It says the DC outputs are 50 -56v . Is this too much or will it be regulated down by the system?
If the motors have * wires I understand they can be wired Unipolar or Bi polar.
If wired for hi torque do I have to take positive and negative outputs to the drivers ?
Is there a simple diagram somewhere to refer to?

What drivers, stepper motors, and bob do you have ?

8 lead Bipolar parallel is the usual preferred connection, though the connections are the same, wire colours vary over brands so it's best to find the diagram for your specific motor.

Bought all the kit from Zapp automation!
    motors nema23 SY60STH88.3008
    Drivers PM542
    Think the Bob is PCPPS-3
    Spindle control board 2V1.2

They have suggested a mod to get the voltage down.
    See attached

  7. Its actually very simple and i did not say you needed to modify the power supply.
There are two 43V outputs on the power supply, just use these to power the drivers.

Clearly I have misunderstood your info Gary
I took it that the circuit on 12 ,20, 28 (numbers as shown in Eddycurrent's pdf , Actual PSU is idented a,b,c,d,e etc) was external and was needed to provide the 43v outputs on 14, and 20.
It is always simple when you are familiar with the Kit , or even if clear instuctions are provided.
I unfortunately was not familiar . Some extra info with the PSU would have helped
