Hello All,
I'm Ian and my daytime job is a maintenance engineer. I would like to build a cnc for home use to make my modelmaking interests easier. Any help and advice from you guys will be just great.

I'm looking to build a 3 axis for cutting plywood, carbon, fiberglass and aluminium sheet. No milling, just flat sheet cutting.

Have a look through these build logs then cobble together the bits you like for your own machine, http://www.mycncuk.com/forums/253-DI...ter-Build-Logs
The best way forward is to make a drawing using CAD, 'Sketchup' is popular becasue it's free and easy to use. That way forum members can see what you propose and over a period of time the design will evolve until you are satisfied with it.Spelling mistakes are not intentional, I only seem to see them some time after I've posted
