@bmbaz, This grease is the right stuff at the right price, http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p89691 , unless you intend to use oil.

Thanks eddy, yes I use toolstation for a few things because of price and proximity.I can now confirm that a 1605 ball nut has 17 ball per circuit as does a 1610,no idea why mine had one missing,it happens.I think i'll be using Wurth lithiun grease as i've a big tub of it from when I use to work for them(a sample, honest)again thanks for all the info.just putting finishing touches to a siegsuper x2 with help from Clive on the electrics and hope to post report soon, its only taken 6months or so..as it does:-S

Sorry to dredge this old thread up but does anyone know how many balls there should be in a SFU2010? I've had a little mishap with one of mine.

The combination of fat fingers, eyesight that's not quite as good as it was, and an ever-shortening attention span has meant that dispite my best efforts the nut will travel fine in one direction but binds up in the other. I didn't count the balls as I repacked them as I assumed I had contained them all but it's looking likely that I may have dropped a ball!!
