I have seen a lot of reference to using double sided sticky tape for holding down wood for routing.

Are there any preferred makes and suppliers of this please?

Again sorry for such a newbie question

I think the last lot I got, my boss got from screw fix and it works fine. Just try any you can find and you will find one that works best for you, like low or high tac. Obviously high tac can be a bit of a pain if using a veneered board as it can pull the grain out and low tac there is the possibility of the piece pinging off. If in doubt use a test piece and start with shallow controlled cuts.
