Thread: EM806 vs AM882

  1. #1
Anyone know if the EM806 an AM882 are basically the same thing?

Specs on the Leadshine website are basically the same, word for word.

AM882's are for more common on US Ebay, and about $30 cheaper. (Actually, there are no EM806's on Ebay, yet it appears to be a more current model than the AM882 on the Leadshine USA website???)

There appears top be one major Leadshine reseller in the US, and they sell the EM806, not the AM882.

I know that a lot of you guys use the AM882's, so I was hoping someone would have some insight here?

    Thanks,
    Gerry

Maybe you've already read these ?

So it looks like at some point only the EM806 will be on sale, from Leadshine anyway.

Spelling mistakes are not intentional, I only seem to see them some time after I've posted

Thanks for those. I would have expected Google to find them for me.

Strange how there are many AM882's on Ebay, and no EM806's.

I'd have to agree with the fact that it looks identical, with exactly the same specifications...

I'd be dubious that they changed anything aside from the stamp - as if they had of, surely they would have advertised the fact.

plus, most of the em806's are 2x the cost of the am882's

Probably this;- User password protection prevents others from copying your drive configurations
Optimizes torque and nulls mid-range instability

    Go with the Am882

No there is a distinct difference between them in use. The EM is smoother at lower RPM. However the difference isn't enough IMO to warrant buying the EM over the AM if using on router. If was a Mill then I'd say yes go with EM because there is enough difference.
