Hello all, I am Eric a 65yr old retired machinist having worked in the power industry on and off all my working life. Experienced in manual machining of steam and electric turbines mainly in the 60-70 tonne range mostly in a large Waldrich Siegen turbine lathe. ( The heaviest ever weighed in at 134 tonnes ) The machine went CNC in the last 10 yrs before retirement and so have a little CNC knowledge. Now into re-furbishing classic British motorcycles and have a desire to build a hobby CNC mill, probably converting an Sieg SX3. Will undoubtedly need plenty of advice etc.

Welcome to the forum, I am sure you will be a valued member. There has been quite a few conversions of the X3 on here I believe. I think there is a few variations the X3.. So ask any question you like but don't buy anything motors or drives etc until you have researched what you require. Clive
