    Hi Everyone

Could anybody tell me how do I go about checking whether the bed of the Spartan 1325-3 cnc machine is square in relation to the spindle on the gantry.

Any help from you guys will be much appreciated.

-mount a micrometer in the spindle or somehow on the z , move the z around, not up or down , and look at what the micrometer says
-cut a square from thick material and measure all sides, across sides and see what is happening
-mount a steel shaft in the spindle collet and using small precision square see if its square

many such a machines don't come square to the 0.01 from the producer, so basically people use sacrificial bed plate which once you surface all is square to the spindle. However that will not cure the need to tram the spindle so the bit stops digging from one side.

And so on... Whats your exact doubt or problem?

Sorry silyavski for not coming back sooner, I've been away.

    I'm afraid I didn't explain myself properly.

When I said the bed was not square, I meant the bed not being square in relation to the drill bit, the gantry, as in illustration B, (exaggerated)

We are about 6mm out when we get to the top of the bed (C).

Can I rectify this myself or is this a job for the pro's?

    Thanks
