  1. New DesignCAD v. 25 and DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 25 - 32-bit og 64-bit
32 bit and 64 bit versions DesignCAD v. 25 and DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 25 have now been released and are available from stock.
The 32 bit version is for 32 bit Windows PCs and the 64 bit version for 64 bit Windows PCs. The advantage of the 64 bit version is that it is faster and can handle larger drawings.
    Import and export improvements
DesignCAD v. 25 and DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 25 now support import and export of AutoCAD 2013, 2014 og 2015 DWG and DXF filer.
But you can now also import and export OBJ and STL files, which makes DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 25 compatible with Solid Edge and SolidWorks, and you can export SKP files for SketchUp from both programs.
    3D print
The STL-export facility also makes 3D-print possible from DesignCAD 3D MAX.
    GIF import/export
DesignCAD now loads the following image files: JPG, BMP, DIB, PNG, PSD, TGA, TIF, PCX, WMF, EMF, and GIF. And DesignCAD can now save the following image formats: JPG, BMP, TGA, TIF, PCX, PNG and GIF.
    Group Editor
Once created, it's always been a matter of guesswork to determine the structure of a nested group in DesignCAD. The Details button in the Info Box doesn't list any sub-groups contained in the selected group entity; it only lists drawing objects.
To resolve this problem v. 25 now offers an Edit Group button in the Info Box. With a single Group entity selected, you can use the Group Editor by clicking the Edit Group button to explore the contents of the Group and any sub-groups it contains.
    Many other improvements
DesignCAD v. 25 & DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 25 contain so many improvements that we can't list them all here, so look instead in the DesignCAD v. 25 Release Notes: http://www.magiccadcam.co.uk/253201/...se%20Notes.pdf or the DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 25 Release Notes: http://www.magiccadcam.co.uk/253202/...se%20Notes.pdf.
    Upgrade prices
Upgrading from any version of DesignCAD 2D to DesignCAD v. 25 costs £24.95 and upgrading from any version of DesignCAD 3D to DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 25 costs £39.95, and you can upgrade from Magic CAD/CAM Ltd from here: http://www.magiccadcam.co.uk.
    ContourCAM
Of course we have also updated ContourCAM, so that it can be installed on top of DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 25, and it works with both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version, and ContourCAM customers can download for free here: http://www.magiccadcam.co.uk/ContourCAMsetup.exe
ContourCAM v. 16 is a comprehensive CAM-system built on top of DesignCAD 3D MAX v. 14 - 25. ContourCAM consists of an ingenious G-code Editor, Cutting, Engraving, Milling, and Turning programs, and the NC simulator, in which you can see the toolpaths generated.
ContourCAM is the only CAM system that includes the ingenious Snake system, which allows you to create 3D solids with a few lines in 2D mode.
ContourCAM will also send your machine programs directly to your CNC-machine through your COM port, or you can save them to files.
