    Greetings,
No idea about voltage differences I would have thought they would be the same less volts more amps so Status Quo or even Led Zepplin.

Have you noticed that heavy metal isn't what it used to be since the price of scrap went down ?

    Anyway I digress as usual...........

Got a Kress 800 here, 240 volts one, and it's been a brilliant tool,
I tend to run it on position 1 to 2 so 10,00 to 12,000 as it's reasonably quiet at those speeds. Flat out it is noisy if you are stuck at the side of it.
far better than the cheap routers.

Road testing one of the 400 hz 24,000 rpm spindles at the moment, they are as noisy at 24 thou as the Kress is at 12 thou, big difference in price though.

    Hi Cookster

    Welcome to the forum

John have you done any cutting yet with the spindle?

If so how did it perform?

To be perfectly honest I couldn't tell any difference between this and the Kress 800 on the few jobs I have run off.
Only using a 1/8" single flute router cutter at 12,000 rpm on modest cuts so not the best way to test.

Just got some nice 1mm ball nose end mills and some white corrian and I want to do a picture of the grandkids in Photo Vee carve.

At this, size 8" x 6" and using the 1mm cutter it will need the whole 24,0000rpm and the cutting time will be about 5 hours so that will be a good test.
