As it arrived with electrical goods I'm assuming it is electrical related?

Is the pocket end for tinning large cable by creating molten solder container for dipping them in?

Is the pointed end for splaying multicore cable out?

So some kind of wire prep tool?

Is the pointed end spring loaded or fixed or is it removeable? Does it look like it would fit into the pocket end
    ? Otherwise give us a clue . . .

No there is hole thru the pointed end to the pocket so would run out.
