Hello, can I use deionized water as a coolant for the 40w laser.
I can only get distilled water if i order it in but some shops near by do deionized water for ironing and car cleaning etc.

Would deionized water destroy my laser? cheers

Distilled water is deionised water using heat. Normal deinoised water for batteries and such is virtually the same thing but made using reverse osmosis and thus cheaper.

Use any deionised water you like but always put some radiator fluid in to avoid it growing algae in the tube. 5% will suffice

This is fine. I use cheap halfords type stuff. Change it every 6 months but should be good for a year or longer depending on use. Make sure you have a large quantity of water if you are running for a long time.
