Hello all,
Here I will show my plans for my CNC Plasma Cutter and hopefully log the creation from start to finish.

I intend the machine to cut 2000x1000mm sheet.

The machine frame will be constructed from 100x50mm Box section as I have enough of this from a job we have recently done so it makes sense to use it up.

The mechanism for the sliding of the gantry is experimental and I hope it will do for the operation of my machine.

I Have taken some pictures and hopefully with your imagination you will see my intentions.

Aluminium angle comes very straight and I think it will be guide system.

example a 5 meter length of 60x60 angle is £34.
For some of the guide systems I have seen that are being used they are all more that that for just 1 meter.
I do understand I will probably need 2 lengths of this, To allow parking for the gantry.

Not sure of the price of the wheels although already have a few of them.

Please note the angle in the image is 40x40, the angle I will be using will be 60x60
allowing more room for attaching it to the bed and mounting the rack.

I intend to use rack and pinion for the control of my machine.

The motor will be mounted in between 4 wheels that will roll along the angle.

Pictures 1 and 2 are supposed to give you an idea of how it will work,
Quite crude I know but i will do a drawing on sketch up when I can.

The other 2 axis's I am still thinking up ideas, Z will probably be on a thread as that seems the best way for that.

I hope this idea doesn't seem impossible as I feel it will work.
