Hi Folks,
After getting side tracked for about 2 years doing other projects I am finally getting back to converting my machines. I still haven’t fitted my CNC Fusion kit to my mill and my Orac is sitting on a corner neglected…. I will get round to these!
For now I have a nice little Conect 121 to convert for my dad. I am still learning as I go with the electronics involved in these conversions but there is a wealth of knowege on the forum for me to learn from.
My first task after taking delivery on Saturday will be to inspect the stepper motors on the machine and try to determine what they are. There is no information on the X axis stepper what so ever but I think the Y may have something on it. I want to make use of these motors if possible and I am sticking with the DC spindle motor. I still need to see how the KB dc controller boards can be hooked up to the BOB but I know it’s been done before.
If anyone knows what the steppers are on a 1985 Conect 121 please let me know.
I have yet to choose the drivers etc but as soon as I know what motors im dealing with I can get on that.
Pictures to come after I take delivery!
