Hello everyone, this is my first CNC build. Currently I'm in the planning process and I would like to share with all of you my ideas about the design and hopefully receive the feedback of other experienced members of this great forum.

The frame will be comprised of aluminum tubing of 70mm x 45mm x 3mm (wall thickness) and 5 mm steel plates to join the different pieces. Currently some of the fixing holes for screws/nuts are not included. The dimensions of the different pieces are as follows:

Front and rear tubes = 600 mm
Left and right tubes = 540 mm
Fixing corner plates = 100 mm x 100 mm / 45 mm x 45 mm
Fixing center plates = 160 mm x 70 mm x 80 mm x 45 mm

My idea is to machine soft materials as well as aluminum.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

Looks ok so far. 1204 ball screws might be a bit slow on pitch. Also not as stiff as 16xx when pushing away from the fixed bearing.
