Good Afternoon,

Quick question I bought a 6040Z chinese machine on eBay and I am already regretting it. Anyway, it didn't come with limit switches so I had to install those. They are all working thank god! :adoration:

I have been trying to setup the touch plate and it is "working" but not properly. By that I mean once I touch it, it shows that connection was made but it does not stop and retract. After some investigation I have discovered that the Z limit switch input is the same as the touch probe "input 3" and that is why it is not working properly I am assuming. Now the funny not so funny thing is technically they are connected to different pins on the board itself. One is connected on "ZXW" and the probe is connected to "DD".

My question is, is it possible to use the same input for 2 things? Have you guys discovered a way around this?

My board is the JP-3163B, v3.9.

Best Regards,
AndreD.

What is the control software.?

You can use an input for two or more things provided they use the same polarity ie: NO or NC and don't clash on what it's monitoring ie: You can NOT use an input for limits and probe because every time you probe you'll trip a limit. But you can use an input for Home and probe because you'll never Home while probing.

Good Morning, Thanks for your reply.
The software is cnc usb controller. I think that is exactly the problem, the fact that limit switches share a pin with the probe even though they are connected on different pins on the board itself.

Would you say I would be better of getting a new controller board? If so what do you recommend?
