Alloy bits

Hi all, Always been a fan of cnc engineering and decided to get involved during the covid lock down.

I’ve got myself a Chinese 6040 2.2kw from Powace. As I intend to mill aluminium parts I have modified my machine to include a 15mm steel bed and both flood and mist cooling. I’ve spent the last year setting up my bench and quite happy with my touch screen, control panel set up and filter system.

I’ve calibrate the machine the best I can and have got the runout to 0.05mm on the x axis which is good enough for what I want to do with it.

Currently just trying to drill and tram my sacrificial layer which I have designed in fusion 360 however I am having trouble homing my design on the bed using Mach 3. I could do with some assist with this if anyone can help?

Looking forward to seeing how far I can take the machine albeit a hobby machine.

Anyone local to me?
