Adjustments strips

Hallo I want to upgrade my lathe Ferm 350, I found out that the adjustment strip are not so cool. It is very difficult to find new strips, so I have to do it by myself
.
What suggestion there are for this problem.

Do you mean the gib strips? What is wrong with the existing ones?

The guide strip is heavily corroded, as the photo also shows.
The strip is also fragile in size, and the spindle bolts do not seem to have any grip.

What are the spindle bolts? Photo again please. What do you mean "fragile in size"?

What you call a guide strip is usually called a "gib strip" and it allows the fit of the dovetail slide to be adjusted. Normally it is a slightly loose fit between the slide and the carriage casting and lightly clamped by a row of small screws along the edge of the slide to take out any play yet allow smooth movement.

Try carefully removing the corrosion with fine abrasive paper then check the fit again. Does the strip have angled edges at 60 degrees? (This is normal). Making new ones requires a milling machine to form the angle so better to use the ones you have if you can. That lathe is available under other names so you may be able to get spares.

And because that guide rib is heavily corroded, it is hardly possible to adjust it properly.
The points of the adjustment screws must be placed properly into the guide rib; usually, there is a clear locating hole where the screw is adjusted.

These holes are barely there anymore; it looks like a non-original guide rib, and I have decided to buy a new piece of bronze and make a new one out of it. Sanding won't do the trick anymore; the photo clearly shows that.

I have a milling machine 800 watt and ER16 collet. Also a angled cutter of 60 degrees a good one. I want to rebuild the lathe complete, because it works great only small clearance and not very powerfull.
The new motor is 2.2 kva, 3 phase, so we have plenty power for32903 most constructions and also an ER 32 collet mounting plate.

Gib strips are normally steel.

I've made new ones in the past using gauge plate (ground flat stock)
